I had my friend Andrew film my whole experience of getting additions done to my Warhol Banana tattoo. It started as a mere banana and I had Travis (tattoo artist and classmate turned friend) add in some lilacs and Andy Warhol's infamous signature. This tattoo as a whole represents many things but first and foremost my older sister Bree. She inspired me in school and life ... and of course art. Being a resident in Pittsburgh and working for the Pirates she is only a short walk down the street to the home of the Warhol Museum. This introduced me further into the love of Warhol and Pop Art. The additional flowers were to further embellish my sister within the piece. One of her favorite flowers being lilacs and I brought in a photo she herself had taken of a bushel (to give inspiration). Besides the meaning of my sister, Warhol over the years has blossomed into my favorite artist, my favorite color is yellow, and not to forget to mention my favorite fruit is indeed the banana. To add for the record, Velvet Underground and Nico .... terrific album. So kudos all around. Song presented in the background I do not own. I love this famous Sufjan Stevens song titled "This Dress Looks Nice On You". Again I lack the rights but felt it completed the video as a whole. Hope you all enjoy stepping into a tattoo parlor and watching as I finish getting one of my favorite all time pieces of art and ink.
